Article: The most durable merino knitwear

Kestävimmät merinoneuleet

The most durable merino knitwear

A lot is required of us men. We have to be soft and believable at the same time. We accepted the challenge.

The most durable knitwear was created in a long process. We looked for the best possible yarns, fits and tested them ourselves. Yes, these are worth selling.

The best yarns

All our knitwear is knitted from 100% extra-fine merino yarn. The wool fiber comes from Australia and New Zealand, where the world's best merino wool is grown by merino sheep.

Based on the experiences of our knitting factory Savitas Stilius and our own, the Italian Miroglio extra-fine Class yarn is the best merino wool quality on the market. Because it keeps the knitwear in its shape and the surface does not pill. It has been tested.

We chose melange yarn for all our knitwear, where the yarn consists of two different shades of the same color. This makes the surface of the knitwear interesting and lively. We do not use the pitch black color at all, because its dyeing process is the harshest on the wool fiber and the surface could pill. We do not want to take that risk.

RWS and Öko-Tex 100 guarantee safety
Because we want to do things well, the merino wool we use also has the necessary certificates. Responsible Wool Standards RWS guarantees that animals and the land are treated well and working conditions are good throughout the process. The Oeko-Tex 100 certification guarantees that the finished material does not contain chemicals that are harmful to the skin or the environment.

Best for the skin

Merino wool has all the good properties of wool without the bad: You don't need to wash it often, it keeps its shape, odors go away when aired out, and it has good color fastness. And it doesn't itch the skin.

Merino wool is a renewable natural material that is easy to recycle. Wool decomposes in nature in a few years.

Perfect comfort
Merino wool is pleasantly flexible on the wearer and returns to its original shape on its own. It is light and breathable, making it suitable for year-round use. Merino wool can absorb up to 35% of its weight in moisture without feeling wet. That's why a merino wool pullover always feels pleasantly dry and warm.

Fit adjusted to the user

The knitting factory would like to design using traditional and easier knitting techniques. Fortunately, our designer Antti Laitinen, who is familiar with knitting technology, knows how to knit clothes in the shape of people. After all, these are made for real people.

All our knitwear is knitted to shape, meaning each piece is knitted separately for each size. This way, there are no waste pieces and precious wool yarn is not wasted.

Elias cardigan – a classic since 2015

Elias was born out of the need to combine the comfort of a cardigan with the fit of a blazer. Elias is a hybrid product that is perfect for different everyday situations. It can be combined more formally with black trousers and a crew neck shirt or more casually with denim trousers and a t-shirt. Elias is suitable for a casual evening out or a more formal business meeting.

Thanks to the fabric-like firmness and thickness of the Milano rib knit, Elias keeps its shape and size even under heavy use. Elias provides a perfect fit and posture for everyday life without forgetting comfort.

Eero Knitshirt

Eero is a more relaxed and lighter knitshirt than Elias. Eero is made of single knit and is therefore an easy-to-wear layering piece. It can be worn with a t-shirt or a collared shirt or just as it is. Merino wool does not itch the skin.

Eero has double folded cuffs at the hem and cuffs. This gives the shirt a neat and dressed-up look. Eero has collars, a chest pocket and a button placket at the front.

Daniel Pullover

Daniel is a true staple in our knitwear collection that is perfect for any occasion. Daniel is made from Single knit and is great for year-round wear.

Daniel's neckline and ribbed cuffs are double-knitted for durability and shape retention.

Proper care for merino knitwear

Merino knits should be washed infrequently. All wool products naturally repel dirt. If you accidentally spill something on the knit, it is easy to wipe it off immediately with a damp cloth.

Merino knits should be aired often and stored folded. This way, the knitwear will not stretch on the hanger and there will be no stretch marks on the shoulders.

Hand washing is recommended for merino knits, but at your own discretion and risk, you can try the gentle wool wash program in the washing machine.

Transparent local production

We tell you with each product in which factory the material was manufactured and in which factory the product was knitted or sewn. We source materials from Europe and the products are sewn in low-risk countries in the Baltics. The knitwear is knitted in Siauliai, Lithuania, and the merino wool yarn is purchased from Miroglio, Italy.
